First American work on military medicine & surgery during the 18th century; based on the works of Percivall Pott and Henri François Le Dran (Jones's teachers); this book became the manual for American military surgeons during the revolutionary war.

Latimer, Flying Hospital, 16th November 1780"; "Henry Latimer" (Dr. Latimer was appointed Hospital Physician and Surgeon of the Continental Army in April 1777 & served to the end of the war. He directed the "Flying Hospital," a mobile surgical unit that followed the army. He was an original member of the Delaware Society; bound in quarter calf & marbled papers.
Both library copies: Errata slip (including ms. correction) pasted on verso of p. 3 of dedication.
