The Declaration refers not only to "the hostile invasion actually made by the French king on our island of Minorca ...." but also to the "unwarrantable proceedings of the French in the West Indies and North America." The declaration is dated 17 May 1756.
On leaf 230v of The Tragedy of Admiral Byng, opposite (on leaf 231r) a transcript of His Majesty's Declaration of war against the French king.
