Byng (the cowardly sailor), dressed in a woman's clothing, is shown on the roof of Greenwich Hospital, saying, "I am a silly bitch & never succeed"; his guard (the brave soldier) responds, "Madam, I have the cole go back to your hole." Byng's cell, located on the top floor below them, is labelled B-g Hole. At lower right, a net labelled "The escape."
Another engraving in this collection refers to the rumor that Byng dressed as a woman to attempt an escape; see A_l B_g's attempt or Miss Mistaken on leaf 116r of The Tragedy of Admiral Byng.
