Note
Hand colored engraving of a burning ship in an unidentified harbor.
The artist, Monamy, was a friend of Hogarth; but apart from the nautical subject matter, there is no apparent connection to Byng or to his career.
The book-, map-, and print-seller Carington Bowles, died in 1793, and the business was continued as Bowles and Carver; thus this engraving must postdate C. Bowles' death -- see Plomer, Dictionary of booksellers and printers, 1726-1775.
On leaf 87r of The Tragedy of Admiral Byng, 1756-57
