Note
Two identical standing figures, one facing front, the other to the back. Study for a miniature model of Private Cato Varnum, a member of Captain Jeremiah Olney's Regiment as it fought at Yorktown in 1781. Captain Jeremiah Olney was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of Rhode Island. Full buckskin uniform with leather shoulder straps holding cartridge box and a green blanket with red cover with the letters RIR. Carrying rifle and wearing a hat.
Original drawing, commissioned by the Society of the Cincinnati, acquired in December of 1998.
