Note
Two soldiers on horseback facing one another in identical uniforms. One faces front, and other faces back to create a mirror image. Drawn to represent Captain Benjamin Field, an eligible member of the Society of the Cincinnati from Virginia. The uniform features a black round hat turned up on the left side with black cockade and ribbon. White fringed hunting shirt to upper thigh, red sash around the waist under brown leather waist belt holding belly cartridge box. Brown leather carbine strap over right shoulder, white leather sword belt over left shoulder. Silver gorget with red roses on breast. White stock and shirt, white breeches, blue Indian boots tied at knee with red garter and at ankles with cord, beaded brown moccasins. Spanish escopeta carbine in right hand. Brown horse with black hair and tail. Light brown harness, red-brown saddle and holsters, brown and metal trimmed pistols, green blanket, etc.
