Adam, one of Boudinot's deputies, provided Boudinot with copies of papers sent to Lewis Pintard who was the agent for American prisoners held by the British. "...This morning the prisoners was ordered on by Major General Putnam for Weathersfield to Ezekiel Williams Esqr Sheriff of that County, to whom I wrote ... I added a list of their names & ranks with the time and place where taken, together with two soldiers of the 37th Regt taken ... by Colo. Burr ... the flour I ordred down the River came only to hand the 17th Inst ... wrote for one hundred Bibles on which I informed the General ... whom immediately gave me an order ..." He has continued, providing copies of letters, a receipt form, and an order to a ship master all concerning the recent shipment of flour to Lewis Pintard "for the use of the United States of America prisoners now in New York."
