Drawing of the "cottage" in Wilmington, N. C. where William Hooper lived after his return to North Carolina in 1767 and his marriage to Anne Clark. Oval in rectangle.

Handwitten in pencil in the lower right corner: "Signer of Dec. of Ind.
B. in Boston-Obt. 1790
1742--Hillsborough, N.C." In the upper right corner is written in pencil "113."
This house was Hooper's residence in Wilmington. Hooper served as councilman for the Town of Wilmington in 1768. He went on to be one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence from the state of North Carolina.
