Note
This is a page from a book on the signers of the Declaration of Independence. At the top is a reproduction of a portrait of Benjamin Harrison, bust to the right, square in a twig-like engraver's border. In the center of the page is a facsimilie copy of a letter. At the bottom is a reproduction of a scene of a house and out building with a body of water in the foreground which is labeled: Res. of Benjamin Harrison, Berkeley, Va., in the possession of F. J. Dreer, Esq. The scene of the house is oval with same twig-like engraver's border. The number "263" has been stamped near the upper right hand corner. In addition, the number "32." appears in upper right corner, written in pencil.
The portrait may be an engraving after a miniature attributed to Henry Benbridge or perhaps a photomechanical reproduction of the miniature itself.
Benjamin Harrision V was a signer of the Declaration of Independence from the state of Virginia.
The Joshua Danforth Bush, Jr. Collection.
