Full-figure, standing, almost in profile to the left. He holds a rolled paper in his right hand, and his left hand is stretched toward the papers on the table to his right. A globe sits on the floor below that table. Above the table in the upper left is a statue of a Greek goddess and in the right corner is a heavy drapery. Rectange. Without letters.
This is an engraving after the portrait of Adams as a young man in Paris by John Singleton Copley. The engraver is unknown.
