The following note about this engraving appears in Hart. "The assignment of this enamel to Henry Bone, the British enameler, with "W. B. 1796", the initials of William Birch, upon it, is one of the curiosities of history, art and literature, and shows the slip-shod fashion in which much "history" is written."
