Title below lined border: La prise de Port Mahon
Depicts the hanging of Byng, who was actually shot by a firing squad on board ship; furthermore, the date on the arch is June 26 1756; he died March 14, 1757. Blakeney had surrendered the garrison at Mahón on 28 June 1756.
Also pictured is Admiral "Gallissonniere" [sic], Byng's opponent.
