Note
Three-quarter figure, standing, torso slightly to the right, head slightly to the left, wearing his prime minister's robes. His left arm rests on a ledge and he holds his hat in his right hand at his side. In the rear are a classical column and clouds. Rectangle.
There are two copies of this engraving. The engravings are the same but the letters are different. On one the following is printed after the title: "OB. 1792. From the original of Ramsay in the collection of the most noble the Marquis of Bute." with no information on a publisher or publication date. This copy is an illustration from Otto Trevelyan, The American Revolution (call no. 973.31 T812, 1909).
The second copy only lists the engraver and the title but does have information on the publisher and the publication date at the bottom. There are no plate marks on this copy and it is on a slightly smaller sheet.
Both copies are from The Joshua Danforth Bush, Jr. Collection.
