Published before 1781, when Hinton died; John Hinton's two last publishing addresses were "Newgate Street, near Warwick Lane" and "King's Arms, Paternoster Row." -- Plomer. Dict. of booksellers and printers, 1726-1775.
Bust within an oval frame, torso turned slightly to his right, head facing center. Below the oval frame is the title, encosed in a rectangle, the whole within a double-ruled rectangle, below which is the imprint.
Legge was one of the signatories affirming the legality of the sentence of the 12 judges on p. 129 of The trial of Admiral Byng, found on leaf 191r of this volume.
A larger, more elegant port. of Legge appears on leaf 199r of this vol. Both may be after the painting by William Hoare.
