Note
Head and shoulders, in profile to the left. Oval with single line border 1/16 and frame border 5/16 surrounded by laural leaves. Below the oval frame, a ribbon with the title is draped on the branches of the laural leaves. The entire portrait is enclosed in a rectangle.
Above, to the right of the rectangle is printed: "European Mag" and below the rectangle, the names of the engraver and the publisher appear.
It appears that this engraving is after a portrait by Gainsborough.
This appears to be a photomechanical reproduction of the original engraving on a new plate for use as an illustration in Otto Trevelyan, The American Revolution (call no. 973.31 T812, 1909).
