Note
Head and shoulders, to the right. Classical background of drape and Roman column. Rectangle with double line border 2/16. Below title it reads: "Engraved from the original portrait in the posession of Dr. D. Hosack."
This may be a copy of the engraving by the same artist and engraver which was published in The Port folio, Series 4, vol. 12:249 (1812). It appears that the page has been cropped and the print is slightly damaged over the name of the artist..
Williamson was surgeon general of North Carolina during the revolutionary war and served as a field surgeon in South Carolina in 1780; elected to the Continental Congress and represented North Carolina at the Constitutional Convention.
