Record of the campaign through Barrington's communications with his naval commander and with Pitt and the Secretary at War, his own brother, in London.
Contents: [1]. Barrington's 11 letters to Moore between 21st May and 17th June, 1759 -- [2]. His letters (or despatches) to the government in London, from 2nd March to 9th May (5 letters to Pitt & 4 to Lord Barrington) -- [3]. Series of miscellaneous reports, memoranda and tabular renderings of pormotions granted during the campaign and accounts warrants issued.
In reversed calf attache-style letter book, blind tooling to the boards, pockets to both boards, flap and brass claps closure.
Accompanied by the vellum warrant, dated 11th May 1759 and signed by the King, Pitt and Thomas Tyrwhitt, Deputy Secretary at War, appointing Barrington as "General and Commander in Chief of all and singular our forces employed, or to be employed on a secret expedition for our service."
