Maillebois, one of Richelieu's two deputies, headed the forces opposing Byng and the English at Minorca.
On leaf 43r of The Tragedy of Admiral Byng, 1756-1757 facing p. 9 of The Trial, on which the 21 March arrival of Maillebois at Toulon is reported to General Blakeney.
