Note
Head and shoulders, to the right, in uniform. Oval with framelike border 7/16. Above the portrait it reads: "Engraved for Murray's History of the American War."
This appears to be a copy of the engraving by Pollard that appears in Murray's An impartrial history of the present war in America, v. 1, p.383, without the letters and at the bottom recognizing the printer T. Robson, Newcastle Upon Tyne. This copy is an illustration from Otto Trevelyan, The American Revolution (call no. 973.31 T812, 1909).
After his service during the American Revolution in 1786, Lord or Earl Percy, as he was known, inherited the title 2nd Duke of Northumberland upon his father death.
