An order headed "Rendevouz" apparently defining a meeting place "off the Island of Scatary." A note on the otherwise blank address leaf states that this was "Not to be opened unless you loose [sic] Company."
Boscawen, a lord commissioner of the Admiralty since 1751, achieved the rank of vice-admiral in 1755.
