Note
Complete list of the British military establishment, its numbers and pay.
Includes army history, extensive social and cultural detail.
Document sets forth the condition of pay from drummer to general, concluding that everyone should be paid "so that one Quarter be still paid before the 2nd Quarter becomes due."
Presumably later printed, as circulation in ms. often preceded publication.
Final 2 leaves torn away (probably contained some expression of loyalty of King Charles or a concluding prayer, neither of which would be appropriate under the new and Catholic reign of James II)
Each leaf ruled in red.
Bound in black calf with gilt floral borders on covers; spine gilt with gold floral morifs in compartments.
Silver clasps.
