This is a page from Harper's Weekly showing seven scenes of a visit to Mount Vernon. Fort Washington [from the river]; Distant view of Washington, Alexandria on the left; Fishermen of the Potomac; The Hallway [at Mt. Vernon]; The home at Mount Vernon [at the center of the page]; The tomb; and The landing [where boats depart Mt. Vernon]. The artist's signature appears at the bottom of the drawing of The Hallway.
At the end of the title, after the name of the artist, the reader is directed to [See Page 430.] where a story about a trip to Mount Vernon was printed. These drawings are on page 428, which appears in the upper left corner of the sheet, followed by Harper's Weekly, followed by Volume XXX, No. 1541.[1886]
