Note
A cartoon showing Admiral Byng on the shore with battleships in the distance. Mars has taken the Admiral's truncheon and arms which are seen in the foreground in the sand. Justice holds a noose around the neck of Admiral Byng as a reward for cowardice. Neptune in the background banishes Byng from the sea and in the foreground the Devil calls for his soul. The title is at the top. Below the engraving it reads: "Price 6 d. Publish'd as the Act Directs."
This cartoon concerns the anger of the populace over the loss of Fort Mahon, Minorca (Spain) during the siege of 1756.
