Letters on colonial legal rights produced a great sensation throughout the colonies. They appeared, early December, 1767, almost simultaneously, in the Pennsylvania chronicle, gazette, and journal, and were promptly reprinted by every other newspaper in the colonies; Hall and Sellers published the first ed. in book form in March, 1768, which was closely followed by other editions in Boston and New York, and in June, 1768, second Philadelphia ed. published
Library copy lacks half title; ms. cover title in unidentified hand.
