Full figure, body slightly to the left, head forward, in uniform with top coat, on his knees in a forest, his arms extended at his side, hands uplifted and eyes upward in prayer.. Hat and sword on the ground to his left. Modern figure of a young man carrying flowers in the background. Rectangle.
This illustration is reported to be of Washington in prayer at Valley Forge.
The print on the smaller sheet has the title in script and in the lower right corner states: "Printed by H. Quig." This copy carries accession number L93.860.
The same sized print on the larger sheet has the addition of an ornately engraved frame like border 11/16. The title is in upper case block type. There is no reference to a printer.
