V. 1, no. 22 (June 5, 1784): The institution of the Society of Cincinnati's alterations and amendments made at the general meeting & commenting on it by "Americanus."
V. 2, no. 12 (Oct. 30, 1784): Includes a report from Providence, R.I., about the visit of the marquis de Lafayette to that city, and his reception by the members of the Rhode Island society. The texts of James M. Varnum’s address to Lafayette and Lafayette’s reply are published.
V. 7, no. 34 (July 14, 1787): "Resolutions of the Cincinnati" (p. 134): resolution stating that the pay deposited in the treasury of the Massachusetts Society of Cincinnati by Luke and Elijah Day, both officers in the late Continental Army at the termination of the '"late war", be returned to them because of their role in Shays' infamous rebellion, to wit: "...by joining, leading and conducting the late Rebellion in this Commonwealth rendered themselves particularly odious and obnoxious to this Society:---Therefore, That their said month's pay be returned them...as they are not, and never have been considered as Members of this Society..." signed by Thomas Edwards, Secretary; on p. 135: report under "New-York" about the admission of three new members into the state Society of Cincinnati, including Marquis de Bouille, Col. Henry Livingston and "Gen. Floyd" (William Floyd, a signatory of the Declaration of Independence); also a report from "Hartford" containing the names of the men elected as officers of the Connecticut state Society of Cincinnati.
