The copy with plate markings on sheet 23 x 17 cm. is an illustration from Longacre and Herring's, The national portrait gallery of distinguished Americans, Vol IV. It is marked: "Museum #42".
The copy on sheet 28 x 18 cm is from Schuyler and a single line border 1/16 has been added, but all the rest is identical to the copy from Longacre and Herring.
The third copy is without letters and has been retitled "Charles Cotesworth Pinckney. Third President of the Society of the Cincinnati. 1805-1825." This copy is from Portraits of the Presidents General of the Order of the Cincinnati, published by the Society of the Cincinnati in 1887 (call no. 369.131 R475, 1887).
Charles Cotesworth Pinckney was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of South Carolina.
