Head and shoulders, in profile to the left, in uniform. Below portrait is inscribed: "St. Memin No. 27 Pine St. N. York."
Date from Miles. Miles states that she believes this engraving may not represent Giles since it does not agree with St. Memin's drawing of Giles.
Aquila Giles was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of New York. He was a major and aide-de-camp to General Arthur St. Clair, and was taken prisoner by the British during the Revolution and was released in 1780. He later served in the New York militia and was appointed major general in the New York cavalry in 1814.
