Head and shoulders in profile to the right. Circular image on square plate with lightly colored border 2/16 top and sides and 4/16 bottom on sheet.

On the frame backing it reads: "Col. Hames McHenry Mus #186. Transferred from the 2nd floor Museum vault room storage to the Library in April 2000.
Gift of James Daniel Evans of the Virginia Society. Displayed on the mantle piece of the Main Museum Room until Sept.1955.
James McHenry was an eligible member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of Maryland. He served on the staffs of George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette. Fort McHenry is named after him.
