Head and shoulders, torso to the front, head to the left, in uniform wearing a hat. Oval with laural leaf framing in the upper third with a hanging ring at the top like a miniature.
In the upper right corner it reads: Lond.n Mag.e March 1782.
The artist is unknown. While the uniform depection is similar to the portrait by Joshua Reynolds, this engraving is not after that portrait.
