Description

Note
Head and shoulders, to the left, in uniform. The ribbon on his left lapel is too long to reveal what undoubtedly is the eagle of the Society of the Cincinnati. The title is a facsimile signature with the dates below indicating he was President - 1784-1785 of the New York State Society of the Cincinnati.
A note in the Vertical Files in the Library indicates that the engraving was made from a miniature painted by John Ramage.
