Three-quarter figure, seated, facing left. He holds a book on his knee with his left hand and holds his glasses in his right hand which rests on his lap. The eagle of the Society of the Cincinnat with large rose ribbon, hangs on his left lapel. Rectangle.

This engraving appears in Portraits of the President's General of the Order of the Cincinnati......published by the Society and printed by the International Bank Note Co., for the Triennial meeting in Newport, R. I. in 1887.
Morgan Lewis was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of New York. He was president of the New York Society from 1832 until his death in 1844 and the Sixth President General of the General Society from 1839 untile 1844.
