Note
Scene in the Virginia Assembly with Patrick Henry standing at a desk in the center addressing the assembly. On the floor near another member's desk is a book and a document titled, "Stamp Act." Below the title it states, "Caesar had his Brutus, Charles 1st his Cromwell & George 3rd" -- Treason, Treason -- "if this be treason, make the most of it."
This is an illustration from Martin & Johnson's edition of Schroeder's Life and Times of Washington, Vol. 1 between pages 310 and 311. This black and white copy has the copyright information below the title.
The handcolored copy is from an edition published by Johnson, Wilcon & Co. and the copyright information with the Librarian of Congress appears below the picture. There also is no recognition of H. B. Hall as the engraver on this copy.
