Note
Head and shoulders, to the left. Circle with border 2/16. Title appears in a framed box below the portrait. Surrounding the portrait is elaborate art work. To the left is the figure of Justice holding a sword and carrying a scale. To the right is the figure of Liberty holding a scroll entitled "Constitution" and a full length rod with a liberty cap on the top. Above the portrait is a large eagle, wings spread carrying a banner with the words, E. Pluribus Unum, along with a shield, flags, and laural leaves.
This appears to be after the oil portrait by Hoit painted in 1840.
A copy of this engraving can be found at the Ohiio Historical Society. They date it ca. 1841.
On the verso, a Mrs Briggs has written, "Found in an old Bible believed to have come from Maryland, ca. 1823."
William Henry Harrison served as the ninth President of the United States.
This appears to be after the oil portrait by Hoit painted in 1840.
