Half figure, to the left in coat with fur collar. Stipple. In an oval with single line border 1/16. Outside is a larger ornimental border of scrolls and flourishes including at the top, a scene of a printing press, books and a quill pen. At the bottom a viginette of the kite flying experiment and below it the title. Below the engraving are the names of the artists and a facsimilie signature and the publisher.
Benjamin Franklin was made an honorary member of the Society of the Cincinnati by the state of Pennsylvania in 1789.
