Three-quarter length, standing to the left, in uniform. His left hand rests on a rock wall and his injured right arm is strapped at the wrist in a sling to his shoulder and his hand is behind his coat. Rectangle. Below the portrait it reads: "Engr.d buy Step.n H. Gamber from a Painting by Ja.s Herring taken from a sketch by an officer in the army."
Below the title is a facsimilie signature.
