Full figure, on a rearing horse, to the right, head to the left, on a pedestal. His right hand is extended to the rear as if gesturing in speech. His left hand is behind the horse's head but appears to be holding a flag pole, that rests on the pedestal, and the American flag furls toward the rear of the horse. Atop the flag pole is a liberty cap. Printed on the pedestal is the word, "Union." In a borderless oval.
One copy with plate impression and shaded oval. Two additional copies, on same sized sheet, but with no plate impression nor color shading in the oval.
