Allegorical picture of an island labeled "Washington," barren expept for a single tree, being buffeted by an ocean storm. A huge wave crashes against the rear of the island and lightning flashes from a black cloud on the horizon. Drawn within an oblong, eight sided double border, 1/16, and wider framelike border 4/16. Additional ornimentation along upper five sides outside of the border, but this copy has been cropped so the full extent of the ornimentation is missing. The engravers name appears below the border, and the cropping may have cut off any additional title that might have existed below the authors name. It is unclear whether the name "Washington" refers to George Washington or to the capital city.
