Lydia Maria Francis Child, 1802-1880, was an author and abolitionist from Boston. She published two popular novels in 1824 and 1825: Hobomok, on early Salem and Plymouth, and The Rebels, or Boston before the Revolution, a copy of which is in the Anderson House Library.
