Note
Three quarter length, seated to the right, His left hand holds a book on a table. He wears the eagle of the Society of the Cincinnati on the left lapel of his coat.
This appears to be a reporduction of a painting that was recently donated to the museum collection. (M.2006.040). A two tone copy of a photograph of the painting has been pasted in the front of his Memoir, written at the request of the New York Chapter of the Society of the Cincinnati and published in New York by W.H.Tenson,in 1859.
Theodosius Fowler is an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of New York.
Three copies. One copy is from the Thomas Collection
