Three-quarter length, standing, facing left. Her right arm rests on a pedistal. Her left hand is at her side and holds her shawl. Her hair is swept up into a headband and she wear a long strand of pearls with a cross at her neck.
Below the title it reads: "From an original picture by J. G. Malbone, in possession of Mrs. Andrew Ritchie, Newport, R.I.
Harrison Gray Otis was a member of the Senate and considered a great orator. His wife, Sally, was a close friend of Martha Washington.
