Three-quarter length, seated on a highback chair, body to the right, head to the left. Her hands rest on her knees and she holds a stem of flowers in her right hand. A triple strand of pearls hang at her neck. Background is an interior with a vase of flowers on a pedistal at the left.
Below the title it reads: "From an original picture by C. Schessele in possession of the publishers."
John Adams was the second president of the United States.
