Satirical print describing the contentious political issues of the day in England, through 26 small drawings depicting an electrical chain connecting Franklin to his flying kite: John Wilkes, Edmund Burke, the Earl of Chatham, Lord North, Blackstone, Lord Bute, the Stamp Act, Boston, the National debt, etc. Below the drawings, in 3 columns of engraved script, are printed "References" describing the contents of each drawing, however, most names and places are coded, with only the first and last letter printed with a dash in between.
Since it was customary to hide the identity of the authors and artists, the names of the authors and artists listed on this print are historical figures, not the actual names of the creators.
For more detailed description, see case file (from W. Reese catalog no. 260 Colonial Americana, 2008)
