"Answer of John Duke of Marlborough, defendant, to the information of Sir Edward Northey, Kt. Her Majesty's Attorney-General, informant": p. 12-24.
Signatures: A-C.
Sir Edward Northey, Attorney General (identified as the author within the text), charges that the Duke had misappropriated a portion of the public funds alotted for the payment of foreign troops. Marlborough's reply states that such sums were a perquisite of the Commander-in-chief of the armies, and were used to carry on necessary secret services.
