This is a scene of the battle on the hill. Troops are shown along their battle lines. Officers plan the action from cannon positions to the right. Wounded soldiers are shown being lad away from the battle. The smoke of gun fire and cannon fire fills the air.
This is a hand-colored copy of the original Illustration in Tomes, Battles of America by sea and land.., vol I, frontispiece, published by Virtue, Yorston and Company in New York in 1861.
