Full bust, to right, head, profile to right, in uniform. Border line 1/16.
Taken from a portrait whose painter is unknown but Hart attributed it to Wright, but Monroe H. Gabian in "Joseph Wright, American Artist 1756-1793", indicates that the painting may have been done by Adolph Ulrie Wermuller. The description in the reference Hart, Charles H. Cat.of the Engraved Portraits of Washington, for #164, seems to corresponds to this engraving. It is attributed to the engraver, John Cadsby Chapman.
