Orders of the 1st Pennsylvania Battalion in the service of the United States.
An edited version of the first 4 pages of orders was published (with accompanying notes and rosters) in Pennsylvania archives, series 2, X:45-65.
"This battalion became the nucleus for the formation of the Second Pennsylvania regiment of the Continental line, October 25, 1776." (Pennsylvania archives, series 2, X:54.)
Vol. also contains (formatted dos-a-dos): Copies of De Haas's Continental commission and correspondence relating to his command, notably with Benedict Arnold during the Canadian campaign of 1775-1776. Orders at Fort St. Anne, 27 May - 1 June 1776; Fort Le Chine, 2 June 1776; Montreal 5 June - 7 June 1776; Camp at Sorell, 12 June 1776.
The name Isaac Wayne is written in several places on front end paper and front flyleaf. "Captain Ir[v?]ine" is written on front cover.
Center portion of book has multiple pages removed.
