Half length, to left, seated. A dress sword rests on left forearm. Table to left, with upright book, hat, and writing material. Oval, with border, 7/16, in a rectangle, with ornamental corners. In this variation, the address of publisher is changed from "No. 90 State Street, Chicago Ills" to 'corner of Burdick & Water Sts., Kalamazoo, Mich."
