Note
Atlas containing maps and plans of battles in the Seven Years' War; most show the fortifications, the positions and movements of the troops and topography of the land; numbered as main maps 1-50 with supplementary maps 1-30 interspersed among them.
Two publisher's notices (signed: Lepzig den 29. März, 1758 & Leipzig, d. 16. Septembr. 1759) refer both to the maps already published and the additional ones that will follow; t.p. is dated 1757 and was apparently first issued with 10 or 12 maps; by the end of the war the present total of 80 maps published.
Accompanied by 2 loose leaves; [no. 1] a view with a poem celebrating the peace : "Der zwischen Ihra Röm Kaysl und Königl ... den 15 Febr 1763 zu Hubertsburg glücklich geschlossene Frieden"; [no. 2] a folded map: "Plan des action beÿ Langensalza den 15 Febr 1761 ..., Nürnberg in der Raspischen Handlung." (probably comes from Schauplatz der gegenswartigen Kriege, Nürnbert, 1757). DSoC
