Note
Letter between military brothers concerns soldiers' health, their pay, and their enslistments; the reorganization of the army "to take place immediately and ... there is to be but forty eight regiments"; and accounts "of the cloathing in 78 which was delivered at Valley Forge."
In 1780 Ezra Badlam was a Lieut. Col. of the 2nd Massachusetts Regiment. His brother Stephen, who had in 1775 and 1776 been part of Knox's Continental Artillery, was apparently at or near home in 1780.
Page [4] bears the address mailed on the "Public Service" and the remains of the seal.
